This charming 19th century mill village was literally crumbling when Preservation North Carolina began restoration efforts a decade ago. Visitors will be able to explore several of the renovated one- and two-story cottages, as well as some architecturally compatible infill houses. Also included on the tour is the 1894 Queen Anne-style home of C.T. Holt, third-generation owner of Glencoe Textile Mill, and a talk by PNC President Myrick Howard. Tickets $25 in advance; $35 at the door; $50 for tour plus bus transportation from Raleigh. Learn more at www.preservationnc.org/Events/Glencoe-Open-Village
