My Old House Online

An online community for people who love old houses.

My daughter and son-in-law are restoring a 1910 house in the Indianapolis IN area and have removed metal tiles from the walls in the bathroom and kitchen.   They are willing to give them free to anyone who can use them.  They think the tiles were installed when the house had an update in the 30's or 40's.  Here is what she says: The tiles are 4x4 field tiles. Metal with enamel finish.
Kitchen was blue/green with black trim. There are cove pieces for the bottom and bullnose for the top, with 6x2 accent pieces as well. The kitchen is roughly 10x14 (three doorways) and the walls were tiled up 4.5 feet.
Bathroom was pink with dark red accents. No cove pieces, but the top and accents are the same configuration as the kitchen. The bathroom is roughly 9x5.5 feet and tiled 4.5 feet up from the floor.
If you are interested, please contact Rebecca at cyber.re@gmail.com.  No cost unless you want them shipped.  They just wanted them to be recycled.   If anyone knows the history of these tiles, that would be a bonus.
