My Old House Online

An online community for people who love old houses.

I have come across a '50s (probably) vintage stove that appears to be in very good shape and in working order. I will post photos and the brand/model info. If anyone is looking for this vintage stove, once I post details, please let me know. I would like to sell it for a modest price and I can crate it for LTL freight (common carrier).

OK, the stove is a Robert Shaw Enterprise stove. I will post photos tomorrow - I have no idea as to age or working condition yet.... I am hoping someone will give it a loving home.

I'm not looking to buy a stove, but I'm curious what you are asking for it? It is really cute!

I have no idea what it's worth. I was going to call some stove restorers and see if they could give me a ballpark price that is reasonable. It's so cool, I really want it to go to a good home and be restored and used. I can't really make it work in this apartment where it is - it's too wide, and the kitchen is a weird shape, so it's best if it goes to someone who can design around it.

Agreed: very sharp.  Also sharp is the true linoleum floor.

Post it at www.retrorenovation.com

There's a place to list this kind of stuff for sale. Also same thing for Wanted.

We had a combo wood/electric stove in our house which we sold for $300. We were told that we probably could have got more for it. It was a Monarch Stove. Not sure the age, but would think 1940's to 50's

Our roofer took it for making tortias in his backyard patio.

Not an East coast move, that!

Believe me, it took quite a few husky fellows to load that baby up on a truck.

I meant using it to cook tortillas on your patio.

Can't believe I live in NM and spelled tortilla's wrong....lol

I was thinking/hoping for the 300-500 range. I don't know what freight would be on it, but I have the ability to crate it well, so it could go LTL anywhere, depending on how badly someone wanted it.
