I have 227 year old, probably white pine floors throughout my house.  I just sanded and will be using Zar's Classic oil based polyurethane.  I am wondering if I should use a sealer prior to the poly.  Any thoughts?

Poly is a sealer.  Are you asking about stain first?

no.  ended up not using a sealer.

No sealer is required.  If the Zar is true oil based finish you can always cut the Zar with paint thinner and create a sealer.  Not an issue, I do it all the time, especially when i am doing touchups.  I would no go with high gloss, it will shown all marks.  Use semi gloss instead
