We bought this beautiful home 2 years ago and have been working on restoring it.  I keep running into the same questions.."What style is it"! We have been told it is a Vernacular style but it is very hard to find documentation and I'm not a 100% sold on that idea. Now the spring is upon on us I have to restore some exterior trim that disappeared years ago and I want to make sure I'm historical accurate  Any suggestions or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!!

Comparing to the engraving, you can see the porch columns and what they are sitting on has been altered.

Pretty excellent to have a resource like that engraving.  I would kill for one of those of my house!

I would take the height of the tree trunks with a grain of salt, I must believe they were extended vertically to show the house better. I love the layout of the drive and the flattened circle carriage way. I would love to play a game of croquet in such a setting.
