For plaster cracks, skim coating and resurfacing plaster try the following Master of Plaster.
I have been using this product for the past 12 years and it is the best product for plaster repairs.
Where do you find this Master of Plaster? I have some spots in my house I would like to repair and not so sure I want to do the quick and easy plaster of paris route.
I have used NuWall fiberglass over drywall to repair stress cracks. Also used it over real plaster walls to make an over all smooth appearance. You will like this product. If the walls are over 8' and you don't have experience handling wall covering you would most likely need a helper. Once you roll the elastromeric product on and have cut your fiberglass material you will get one chance to position it.
Hi Beverly, I have researched the nu-wal product and think that it will resolve my problem however, I havent been able to find a contractor thats familiar with this product in my area. Any sugesstions would be much appreciated. I live in Michigan. Thanks
My husband and I used NuWall in a bedroom to restore the walls and ceilings. We completed this project over a year ago and we are very pleased with the results. We would recommend NuWall.
This particular bedroom had many cracks in the ceiling and walls. The original wall finish was 1913 rough textured (not certain of technical name). We smoothed the finish using a bladed paint scraper and then repaired the cracks with drywall plaster (no taping). In scraping the walls, we did not scrap them completely smooth, but left some of the texture. We then applied the NuWall fiberglass sheeting. Since the fiberglass sheeting is thin, the rough texture did show through. The results yielded a finished wall textured look that blends with the walls in the remainder of the house.
To protect our bodies while working with the fiberglass, we wore long sleave clothing and hats. That is recommended!
