Recently we were up to Niagara on the Lake, and while taking a stroll through a local antique shop, came across not one but two chandeliers that had a striking resemblance to one we have hanging in our house currently, that came with it.
I've scoured the web trying to determine if this is legitimate Delft, but haven't found anything conclusive. It looks a LOT like the fixtures, but without taking it to an expert, I'm just not sure. We were originally planning to re-purpose (aka hack up) the light for a bathroom fixture... but if it is vintage as we suspect, I'd like to clean it up and reuse it.
If anyone has any info on these, I'd love to hear about it! (And yes, we haven't gotten to doing this room yet... nevermind the cobwebs.:)

An antique dealer could look at and touch the Delft and know if it is old.

Permalink Reply by Jessica Lemmon on January 24, 2012 at 9:15am 50's/60's sounds about right based on what I've seen and the previous life of the house. It wouldn't surprise me if it was a knock off really. It's going to be a while until we get to that room, but when we do it's going to have to be taken down and hopefully we can better identify it.
Thanks for the heads up :)
