"Not to put a damper on your plans, but why does the house need to be gutted?  From the pictures I saw from your posts in your other thread, the inside is in awesome condition and looks very livable.  I know its fun to dream about new floor…"

Buried Treasure

Hello all,I know this post will generate some interest, since I was practically salivating upon this discovery.  Check out the two pictures below.  We are putting in a brick patio in the back yard and look what turned up when we were digging!  I haven't excavated all of the tiles, but they appear to continue further underground where we weren't planning to dig.  Believe me, I will be digging the rest of these out to see how far they go!  The tiles are even more beautiful up close.  I'll be sure…See More

Andy,

I saw on a post that you are a locksmith (and see it again now on your page)... Do you make/copy old skeleton keys or know where I can have that done?  I see that the store you have a link to has antique lock hardware, but I've not had luck with anywhere else that carries antique locks & keys.  The key to the exterior door of my house is a skeleton key and different from all the others in the house (and, according to every locksmith I've tried, my entire area of the state).  I haven't found anyone who had a blank to make another and I really should have more than one key to my house!  I don't want to remove the original lock as it would ruin the door... Just curious if you have any suggestions.  Here is a link to my album with pictures of the key (in case you can tell just by looking at it why it's different than normal, making it so hard to get another):  http://www.myoldhouseonline.com/photo/albums/keys

Thanks for any ideas you may have or tips for finding someone to make a key for me!!
