help rebuilding fireplace hearth

Dining room hearth was buckled and repaired many times before I bought house, had  the floor under jacked up and am now trying to restore the hearth, found wood floor about 4" down under 2 inch layer…Continue

"Look up when you are in your basement or attic and you will see these sticking through just about every joist.  Even if someone has removed all the old wiring, many times they leave the tubes, since they are sometimes stuck tight in the hole."

"That is absolutely your original roof. We have the same thing in our attic. But our original, pressed tin shingles are still functioning as our roof. It's possible that they're pressed tin shingles that are rusted, so they look…"

"I have never burned the wood, just the paint, on year 31 of stripping and refinishing furniture, doors and woodwork.  It is so rewarding to see the before and after of what I have accomplished."
