"This is a beautiful house! I love that front door. I think the landscaping kind of detracts from the overall picture though. this would really benefit from some nice hard scape - maybe a nice path from the steps, and some more elegant plants.…"

"Wow. Oh my goodness that house is amazing!! The only comment I would make is that you could use some better shrubbery around the base of the house. That pinky-purple plant is nice, but it kind of fights with the (gorgeous) color of the house. I…"

Hello!! Yes, the whole house is solid brick. There is even a whole wall on the interior that is solid brick, 1st and 2nd floor. I do plan to repaint it in the future. I think we are going to go with some kind o slate blue? or a darker blue than is on there now (I know, it looks grey), with some reddish color on the trim, white, and maybe some other blue.

I plan on restoring the woodwork with original shellac. I think a lot of it is still shellac with a clear poly over it. Some of it was restained, and doesn't look all that great. I will have to post more pictures of the resto/demo work I have been doing. Keep checking in! I plan to do a online house blog once I figure out how to do it. Thank you for the kind comments about my first old house :)

You can't see all the house colors in the photo as I had to shoot from a distance to get the entire porch in (90 feet in perimeter). Unfortunately the front yard is a north exposure with most of it getting no direct sunlight, so its very difficult to find anything that will grow there. The only direct sun comes in at the corner where that large plant is (a rhododendren).
