"Depending on how serious the infrared stripper is, you'll have to be VERY careful. You can very easily scorch the wood, and I'm also always concerned about embers getting loose and falling in cracks. While it's much slower, a good,…"

Recently married...Marketing Coordinator by day and House Renovator by night...
Tell us about your old-house experiences and dreams:
A year (down to the day) before our wedding, my husband's grandmother had passed away at the age of 93. With her passing, my husband and I decided to take on the full renovation of her house that her father (my husband's great grandfather) built in 1912. The house is an American Foursquare style in much need of some TLC. Lots of TLC. With that we completely gutted the house down to the studs, changed and opened the floor plan. We (aka my husband, father-in-law, my Dad, plus lots of family) are doing 95%. We did contract our drywallers, who just finished yesterday - wahoo! It's the little things. Anyways, we still have a few months ahead of us to make it liveable (master bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen), plus many years of finishing :).
