Rule #1 - there is no such thing as a little project: one task always leads to another. Example - we removed the dirty carpeting from our kitchen floor, only to find that the sheet flooring it was glued to was mounted to 1/4" Masonite. After pulling up the Masonite and all the little nails, we discovered that the room had originally been three smaller rooms, and there are gaps in the strip maple flooring where the walls used to be that must be pieced in. I am not so much a home restorer as an archaeologist!
