Radiator cover

"Put a saw kerf along the bottom of your new sill.  Look under original sills to see how they did that.  It causes water to drip off your sill, instead of running under it and against your siding.  "

"Sill stock is usually available at real lumber yards. Jamb stock can be made. If you want you can just nail the parting stop to the frame, but a dado is better."

Middle aged old house nut. Wish it was 1893 or round abouts.
Tell us about your old-house experiences and dreams:
I'd like people to walk into my house and think it was 1890 or so, but with electricity. My friends say I'm a purist nut or just plan nuts.
