I am the communications director for Preservation North Carolina. My previous experience has been in journalism, where as a writer and editor I have specialized in planning, economic development and neighborhood sustainability. I am firmly convinced that historic preservation is the key to success in all of these areas.
Tell us about your old-house experiences and dreams:
My past residences include two early-20th century bungalows, but now I reside in a roomy and functional 1970s split-level. (I hear that some day these, too, might be worth preserving!)
I also co-own a 1920s beach cottage at Nags Head, NC, that is built in the tradition style, associated with builder Samuel Twine.
