plaster

yes they had tore some wallpaer offf ,,,,,on second visit while inpection was there i was able to see it, it is thin plaster sure didnt look like it 1st visit ....lol ty for replying

When removing old plaster and replacing it with drywall, you want to consider any reveal in the wood trim. Historic coats of plaster are usually much thicker than sheetrock, and you may be left with a very visible line where the old plaster used to…

This sounds like a barrier wall to keep the original foundation in place. Do nothing until you have a structural engineer look at it. Diane

we live in a small town indiana hopeing to move to a smaller town with a older home 1910 was the year it was built!!! so it will hold alot of challlenges to us !!i work full time hubby is on disability!! so ill have my hands full!! wish us luck we need it!!!
Tell us about your old-house experiences and dreams:
we are interested in a old house put down 1 thou for earnest offered 35,000.00 they wanted 39,900.00 we will see nov 3 yes or no.... the promblem s with the house we are looking at neeeds roof replacement/repair and plaster walls tear down in the top two attic bedrooms!!!!! train tracks are about 1000 ft or so from house can feel vibration ,,,, havent looked at sewer yet probably older clay tiles who knows!!!!!!
