The house has and intricate inlay in the foyer as seen below:

The dinning room is maple:

The Livingroom is parquet fir with a decorative hardwood inlay around the edge:

The rest of the house, kitchen halls and second floor is all fir.

We are now in the process of sanding and repairng the floors. We had to do under the radiators so the plumber can fix them in place. The kitchen was a mess. We removed a bathroom to make it bigger, so we had several good size holes in the floor. There was also a very heavy butlers pantry that was used as part of the bathroom wall. Either the weight or the floor getting wet or both, had warped the flooring under the cabinet. So the floor guy had to remove same:

OK, it is now 1/20/2012 and here are the floors in the living room and foyer:

Here are some during pictures. The floor guy decided to have a go at it even  though he was only going to to the areas where the radiators were going. The plumber wnated that done first to make it easier on sanding before he set the radiators. This is what we got:

Here is another view:

Wow, I just think these floors will be gorgeous when they are done.
