Here's are a few shots of an American Foursquare in Kansas City, Missouri. I've posted photos of dozens more restored historic homes in the Pendleton Heights Neighborhood Virtual Tour.

Comment by Marlin Schorr on February 15, 2012 at 6:58am Some very nice houses there--but a pity that some were ruined with the addition/alteration of original porch railings with modern materials and heights. If the area is a historic district, someone was sleeping on the job by not covering that aspect of restoration. Nothing ruins the appearance of a house more than the scale of the rails--I place it right after altering the windows.
Comment by Anthony Marstall on February 15, 2012 at 1:37pm I agree. It took a lot of effort, but we got the historic district expanded to include this neighborhood a few years ago. That kind of alteration is no longer allowed. Now we are working on downzoning everything back to single-family use.
It looks simple but amazing, can image this house will give happy life.
